ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Surveying Techniques was established in 1988 and is recognized as one of the key technological specializations at the Technical Institute of Kirkuk.
Admission and Capacity
Eligibility: Admission is strictly limited to high school graduates from the Scientific Branch.
Capacity: The department accommodates a total capacity of 60 male and female students.
Facilities and Infrastructure
The department features:
An aerial surveving laboratory.
A specialized storage facility equipped with modern surveying instruments.
A computer laboratory, which was introduced in 2008.
Academic System and Practical Training
The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with hands-on application:
Theoretical Lectures: Delivered in standard classrooms.
Practical Training: Conducted within the department’s specialized laboratories and workshops.
Summer Training: Students must complete a mandatory two-month field training program at a government department during the summer vacation after their first year. Completing this training is a strict requirement for graduation.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded a Technical Diploma in Surveying Techniques.
